Bulgarian, Greek and Turkish students painted peace on the wall
Trakya (Thrace) University Community Volunteers Foundation hosted a national event from 5-9 May and young people from different provinces came together to implement social responsibility projects.
A workshop was held on the last day of the event, 9 May Europe Day, with the participation of university students that came from Greece and Bulgaria. 60 university students from three countries played games in order to get to know each other during the workshop, which took place in the garden of State Hydraulic Works 11th District Directorate. Then they organized five different study groups in order to discuss the EU. The study groups talked about 'Education Systems and the EU Process', 'Advantages and Disadvantages of EU Accession', 'Daily Life of a Young Person in each of the 3 Countries', 'Europe Day' and 'The Role of the Youth NGOS in the EU Process'.
Young people coming from Turkey, Greece and Bulgaria painted the walls of Deanship of Trakya University Faculty of Education in multi colours and wrote their longing for 'peace' and the concept of 'United in Diversity', which was used on EU Europe Day 2005 poster. Young people from Greece and Bulgaria participated in the event in the scope of 'Cross Border Cooperation Network of Border Governorships of Greece, Bulgaria and Turkey'. |
